The Warung

One of our group member never tried Nasi kuning before, so we decided to choose 'The Warung' for our second restaurant. This place is very isolated, covered by all the new building. But surprisingly there so many customer going here for breakfast and lunch. The owner of the shop told us that, everyday mark the time on 11.00 AM, everything is sold out. The Warung started their business since 2010, so there no surprise that their business is going really well.

Nasi Kuning (RM 5.00)

Nasi lalap (RM7.00)

Nasi lalap special (RM7.50)

Nasi Ayam Penyet (RM10)

Look at the size of that thigh!

The food at the warung appears simple but the flavour have remarkable depth and this place is not a fancy but the most important thing is the food . The warung is known best for the cheap and affordable and also its traditional foods from sabah and indonesia as well or the combination of local sabahan foods and indonesian and it creates a great combination. Lets start with the first main course and it is The warung very own Nasi Kuning. It looks simple but I can assure that it would be an experiance to taste the deliciousness of the Nasi Kuning with perfectly fried chicken and also special sambal poured on top of the fried chicken with boiled egg and a few slices of cucumber. The sambal might look reddish but its not spicy as it looks. Next is Nasi Lalap. Basically the Nasi Lalap and Nasi Lalap special are the same and the only different is the rice. Both serve with special fried chicken, vegetables, potato chips and tempeh a type of indonesian soybeans to add up the unique taste of Nasi Lalap and last but not least a special sambal used as the chicken dipping sauce. The last and final main course for The Warung is Nasi Ayam Penyet. Serves with a huge chicken thigh , steam rice, vegetables, tempeh and again a special sauce made for nasi ayam penyet. This place is very suitable for breakfast and lunch and this place will give the customers a new experiance of food because all of the food might have a similar name with others but the taste is just fantastic. Despite having a limited space to fit customers at one time, Customers will patiently wait for table because of the foods here.
